this is an immediate favorite for me...
as Kevin says, the compo is simply perfect. also the tones are wonderful, and i like the distortion from the lens...which seems heavier on the left side. lovely work Thilo...this one is one of your best if you ask me.

this has a strange glow that reminds me of mark rothko, who is one of my favorites. abstract expressionist all the way for me. lovely work gayle.

excellent shot thilo...my favorite neckbreaker thus far! love everything, the geometry, the wide angle (of course) and the tones. great work putting the camera on the ground...nobody else would think of that.

thanks much C! i am really loving this new camera...it seems like i'd take a lot of similar images with the old cam, which looked like duds on the screen. having a big lens seems to help bring out more subtle colors and textures...this thing has really refueled my photography addiction!

i wonder if increasing the contrast may give this a little more life. the compo and DOF are really great, and i actually kind of like the lighting on his eye. very interesting portrait. nice work.

excellent shot! i love the overlapping squiggles...is this a multiple exposure? i'm not sure how the vertical line formed. great result nonetheless...boosting the contrast a bit might give it a little more life too. well done David.

 Thanks Michael! i really do like the D70 a lot. it may be because i've used nikons in the past, but i find it very easy to use and change settings quickly. i am much happier with the images i'm getting now too...i can't wait to print a few and see how they look on paper.
