I wanted to be closer. Maybe that's just because I love the water so much. It's beautiful.

Thanks for the comment - it made me think. The image was sharpened very little - I was wary of applying sharpening because it is a such a high contrast scene with a lot of fine detail. I'm glad that you've made the comment, and I'll see what I can change to make it look less sharpened.

Thanks,
Helen

Helen,

Really fun series with engaging narrative. The grain works really well (as if taken by a spy camera on the detective's lapel) and the story hooked me. It all makes sense, in a way, that it comes down to a pair of flamingos.

Nice work! Enjoyed it very much.

I've just had a quick look on eBay - there are 4 pages of 'tissue box covers' available to buy in the UK!

What a neat idea - tissue box covers are so twee!
What gave you the idea?
Having a smart car - I was once gutted I couldn't have a nodding dog - because they don't have 'shelves' in the back window - now I can't have a tissue box cover either.

I can't put my finger on why, but I really like this shot - the subject looks so ordinary and yet somehow staged.
I especially like the way the light falls on the shirts.

I really like this shot, there are some lovely pastel colours that catch the eye without dominating the shot, and the arrangement of the hanging shirts along with the bric-a-brac on the shelf works really well.

The lighting is fine, and the whole shot has a soft, informal feel to it. Well done.

Helen,

Very nice photo! I like the way the you used the angles of the pool in composing this shot. The angles combined with the blue of the water is actually quite soothing!

Nick,

That?s a very interesting comment, and a hint of our differing values. What you take to be positive ("a good candidate for a bottle of mineral water!"), I'd take as a denigrating comment.

Best,
Helen

... I agree - it is what makes us all different! From my perspective, I see the crop I made as a good candidate for a bottle of mineral water!
