Yes, it's cropped, of course. I had no longer lens than my 70-200, and those stilts are quite shy and they never allow you to get close to them. The rest of the photo is unintesting, I think: some empty water and some very dark shore areas.

Lucky you, Teunis, who can enjoy such autumn colours (most of our trees are evergreen).

The birds of my photo are black-winged stilts (Himantopus himantopus), a very common swamp bird, at least here in Southern Spain.

Ronnie, this is also great, but, are you sure the exposure took as much as 5 seconds? It would be totally awesome if that little critter stood for such a long time, even if it was cold. Anyway, it's stunning.
