i have something similar to this as well. Animals at the zoo are wonderful to get up close but at the same time I always leave feeling sad because they are locked up.

wow.... great- this guy looks more like he wants a hug vs eating you for lunch.

I had a big cat at the folsom zoo pounce on me from across the enclosure... He was staring me down- I had my camera up and charge... what a scary rush that was.

You know Rog, I think this was at Majura, as Stromlo was still burnt out, it was the 24 hour in 2005, and this was at the bottom of the switchbacks down near the camp site.

no, these were taken in Western Australia, Kalgoorlie actually, and they are another type of parrot, but I cannot remember which.. I have a series of these guys that seemed to be making out.. I will try to find them, but I think they are back in Oz.. I am not there at the moment..

Hi Cathy, I am trying to remember, but I think i was near Macquaries chair for that one.. in the Royal Botannical Gardens again... it is a favoured place for my photos as you can tell. Did you have fun wandering around the city?

Nice work my friend. My only comment would be to clone out the small reflection / hilight bottom left of the image - it is slightly distracting. I like this.

Beautiful (and fortunate) shot Mike. "Skittish" doesn't even come close to the elusiveness of these creatures. To capture an image as crisp as the one you have here is just short of a miracle! Great job. -john

Beautiful, Mike and the careful stitching paid off. I would have liked to see this posted in a slightly bigger size to better show off the detail.
