Great timing and great exposure compensation too...considering the contrasty background...unless u were using incident light metering

I also picked up a real 105 F2.8 Micro Nikkor...I should have less fuzzy macro shots now

Nice shot Chris.
However, what do you think about straightening the frame a little bit or was the skew deliberate.
For my blurry shot, that was the best I could get
with a supplementary lens...I guess there is no substitute for a good macro lens

Chris,
So your wife is Indian...interesting
a very pretty shot...as for lighting one of the rules is to try to keep the shadows below the nose and above the lips....if your set light at 45 deg and 2-3 ft above the subject...
Maybe that would have further enhanced the mood...a good shot nonetheless
