I think, I allways had this shot in mind, but i never got the chance to take it. Was the shot sponainious, or did you have in mind to take pictures, as soon as you get on the margarete field ?

, i have a similar portrait of a young girl, taken spontainiously on the street. Yours is more provocative, and full of colour, but I like it

i think, it would've been much more interesting if you would have used a semi contre-jour lighting, to give shapes, and mentain the stillness of a "natura statica"

I find this photograph very original, and enjoyable. It reminds me of classic masters of photography, like for example Catala Roca in Spain. Keep up

quite picturesque ! It remind me of the brenne region in France, I've visited last summer, there were some very beautiful looking houses in some areas there..

the main idea is good, but I can't agree with the superficial cloning left of the icarus guy, second, I don't understand why you felt the need to level the character and the ground part. Actually let me guess, its made out of more photos?

Greetings Rick,

I find this shot, awesome, because of the framing, and especially its overall cold color tones, perfectly compensated by the woman's jacket. The only thing, that I would still modify, would be e little more crop from below, keeping only the wet sand part.

Regards, George

she is cute ... i would have liked a photo of her in semi-desaturated colour, but i suppose the iso200 foma, was the only medium available at that point. .. but you made me curious- who is she? ... i mean is she a dear friend of yours? or perhaps, a relative ?

hi melanie, ...its not too much to tell about "how i captured it" I just saw the interesting old man, and i just pressed the shutter button. I was on canon's AV, exposure program (aperture value) with an aperture of 1.8, and with a 1/60 exposure time. Iso was 400, for there wasn't too much light. Of course, i adjusted it photoshop, to obtain a special kind of textures on his face, a special color tone on his skin... actually now he looks a bit frightening, and i find that interesting cause when you look at his smile, and at his eyes, one cannot find anything that frightening regards, george

, thanks hermin for mentioning ... actually i really did not know what you meant by "cracking" ... by the way, the well trained dog, was actually a lonely, hungry frozen vagabond dog on the beach, feeding on the many dead birds lying there. I suppose the bird have died, because of the frost(we have this paranoia of Bird-disease in Romania, right now, so I hope they hadn't anything to with this)

cheers, george

Hello Hermin. What exactly did you mean by "depth" ? They're just a few diffrent planes (one further than the other) which seem put one on the other, somehow because of the long focal distance (aprox. 200mm on film camera) The photo is taken from the top of the Bucegi mountains, the OMU peak (2507 m) in Romania. Regards

for those of you who might be curious, the picture is taken on 26th of january, In Romania, the winter months are wintermonths, so it was a cold winter morning, just minutes before the sunrise. We made this roadtrip at the seaside with the main target of photographing the frozen sea.

Thank you all for your best wishes, hope i'll be able to entertain your eyes with some other photos as well in the future.

excuse me, i thought i saw a modif. only on the eyes
, i actually don't find that gamma modif. really that relevant./
the good part is, i still have the psd original project, so i can easily eliminate the eyes layer, and let the feeling be a more natural... i just wanted to render his eyes, the way they seemed to me, the moment i took the shot thank you hermin again !

thank you hermin, I apreciate your sincerity. A friend of mine also suggested me the same detail. I agreed with him, but i wanted to hear other opinions as well. I'll return with the non-extrem-modified version

chris, regarding the 'fairly centered horizon' - if you'll take for the horizon, the darker part of the sky, you won't have it THAT centered
I wanted the persons almost centered, because i don't enjoy the "mathematical photographs" that much. A slight rule-breaking never hurt anyone George
