About: I bought an Olympus D-510Z in the summer of 2001. Since then, I have shot thousands of photos. In the summer of 2003, I wanted to make a slide show of my best shots. Unfortunately, I found that I didn't have many 'best' shots. So, I started to do a little reading and research (starting with the camera's operation manual).
I spent a lot of time learning about photo editing, but soon found that getting the photo right while taking the shot saves a huge amount of time. For me, I usually see my mistakes after I get home. I feel that I struggle choosing a focal point and figuring out what to compose. I found UseFilm while doing a search on ?Composition?.
I became a UseFilm member at the very beginning of 2004. I believe seeing so many examples and critiques really help me in my learning process. It is great to get feedback on my pictures. Plus, I enjoy seeing everyone else's photos and comments.
I have no intentions of 'quitting my day job'. Basically, I would like to be able to create a photo album that I would be proud to share with my friends and family.
