To me, a perfect shot! I am a bird lover, too and this 'action' shot is just right. I love the rim lighting on top of the heron's left wing.

The b/g is soft and doesn't bother me at all.

everyone has there off days Marcus, including you and me both. we are all learning here. i take the critiques and think about them if they dont fit with my style i don't worry about them but if they are able to help i'll use them. we all know every second bloke and every third gal waits on tender hooks for judi to comment on their photos, me if my friends comment they do if not aint no skin off my nose, it might not be their type of shot, friends or not friends. be well mate and keep posting whatever YOU like, dam the rest.

Wonderful In fligh shot jason, dont you just love when you get a good perced and IF shot of a bird. Dont listen to JUDI, she told me to add folage to my backgrounds and my hits have dropped since LOL..

Really good shot. For improvement I think you can try lightening the background to make the bird stand out a bit more because as it is, the bird is too camouflaged by the background.
