About Another scene from Monument Valley. This one shows some of the Native American houses that are on the reservation. A rather imposing rock in the backyard. Sure hope they're on the sunny side of that rock in winter. :)

Thank you to all who take the time to view and comment on my images.

I'm still fighting off a chest infection but getting around Usefilm slowly. I will catch up with comments as I can.

Cheers all - Ann :)

Another beautiful capture of these amazing rock formations. And a very nice composition here. The houses gives a good scale of the size. Very nice shot Ann.
Hope you are feeling better now.

Beautiful panorama. You have taken it very well. Small houses on the left show the power of rocks. I like also whole composition.

It's no insult to call this a picture postcard shot - it's magnificent in capturing the landscape but also includes signs of human habitation. Beautifully done, Ann.

hi, love the rock formations and like that you shot from a POV that shows the small houses for scale....the earthy colors have a glow of their own...nice color contrast with the brilliant blue sky,too......lifts my soul just looking at this sacred place...regards,gayle

There's like no way to de-intensify the colors; it's just the way it is over there and people don't believe me. This is how it looks. Unfortunately, the last time I was there, I shot with negative films, and they don't last past 10 years and they fade. I gotta go back with "dij". Cheers,

Mark

Great shot. I'm amazed how you manage to bring out all the colours in your pictures. The light is fantastic, and the composition likewise.

Nice shot of this amazing part of the world.

Love the tumbleweeds in the forground for perspective. If you've ever been in the Valley during a thunderstorm, it is one of the most incredible places on earth and the sense of depth and distance is impossible to catch on film.

I like the two roads for added scale ....

Hello my sweet Ann...I left you your happy birthday on an older shot of yours, hope you get it OK. I too am struggling to keep up with everything, but I run out of time everyday. Usefilm gets very slow over here in the early afternoon; I guess that's because 'traffic' is at it's heaviest.

This is another of your fabulous landscapes that shows off the immensity of the American geography. Beautiful colour tones and wonderful sharp details.. Well done to you. Get 100% well again soon and although I'm a day late..........

.......HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANN..................

Hugs and kisses and all best wishes...Ray

Nice one!!! Now as you know I didn't like it that much when you 'put in' the car in the other shot... but these houses are a different story... ;-D!!! They're indeed great for 'size' but don't look out of place... Wonderful view, nice colors, like the grass in the foreground, good composition... well done!!! BTW hope you get well soon and happy birthday (some little (british) bird told me... LOL)!!!!

That is such a wonderful place. It makes you feel just as small as you are... The house does give everything a scale as to the size of these rocks. Nice capture. Don.

Thank you very much Darlene for your kind words and good wishes. It's a double celebration as I was married on my birthday. Smart man married me on my birthday so he wouldn't forget both important dates - haha. We usually go away for a small holiday every year to celebrate both but this year we'll just take our holiday a bit later when I get over this bug.

Cheers - Ann :)

Thank you Gary for your good wishes. I'm sure those rocks won't tumble down onto those houses. I hear they've been there for many many many many years long before those homes were built there.

I'm way behind in comments to your images. Need to go check them out and get a high altitude fix.

Thanks for dropping by.

Cheers - Ann :)

Awesome shot and perspective Ann! I love the houses, for scale, it must be really tough to live there, no matter how beautiful it is. The native people have adapted for that life, it's amazing to meet them. Awesome space between the rocks and great color of the rocks, ground and sky. Hope you feel better soon, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Beautiful tones, gradation, staggered and overlapping rock figures give a sense of great depth to match the scale of the formations. Well done.
