Nicely done, Darlene...I've missed lingering over your wildlife fotos with my morning coffee.

And I'm glad to see you having fun with PS. It's a terrific tool in the hands of an artist...am looking forward to enjoying more of your experimentation.

Wonderfully caught wing motions Darlene from this regal looking bird. Can't see anything wrong with your PS work. I'm running a bit behind but I will catch up in due course. Thank-you for calling in on me. Hope everyone is keeping well. Best wishes to you sweetie....Ray

Perfect timing makes the composition. The wings curve adds a graceful line to the photograph. I wish I could be helpful with PS but I'm also at the bottom of the learning curve.
Best regards
Ken

yes the editing of the background is visible, but actually I think it gives the photo the look of a painting. Great dramatic pose!

A wonderful image of a very regal subject. I could be wrong but since your background is all blue sky I don't really see a need to have altered or blurred it in any way with Photoshop. You've captured a great moment here with his wings opened in such a way. Great catch Darlene.

Also Darlene, I posted a photo with you in mind this afternoon.

Blessings

Ann :)

Hi Darlene,
You certainly got a beautiful pose from this magnificent bird!
As far as the background goes, I hesitate to comment on that, mainly because the graphics card that I use is quite old and I know that sometimes when viewing simple plain backgrounds, I am not seeing what is intended by someone else.

Great shot Darlene! I plan on the a little Eagle chasing in the next couple weeks. They come to south Dakota about this time of year. Our popultion has grown from only a few birds wintering here to thousands. Many pairs will nest here as well.

About PS. Learn to use layer masks, If you do not allready. Open your layers dialog under the window menu. Drage you BG layer and drop it on the new layer icon, Do the blur of your choice to the BG Layer, Go to you new layer, Click the add layer mask icon, Choose a brush with soft edges, size to your liking, Set opacity to 50%, Now, where ever you paint black on the mask your blurred BG will reveal through, Paint white to cover up you mestakes...

I hope this helps, Maybe you are allready familiar with this....

If not and you want more help just let me know....

Works great for selective sharpening or any PS effect. Usually you do not want to apply an effect to the entire frame

great one, he's posing for you Darlene. Think all these birds loves you :)
I like the blurr at the top of his wings, fo better background, I think you should talk with Claude Lussier, he's better than me for that kind of work.
