About I was on my way to shoot an couple for their engagement session. I had an hour to kill so I left early. I saw this gentleman walking on the side of the street. He was wearing a very long RED womans coat, and an orange Hard Hat. I drove up 3 blocks and turned around. I pulled over and told him I was a photographer on my way to an appoint, and would appreciate the chance to shoot a shot of him. He replied back, "sure", very kindly. I moved him over to a large opening in a garage type of building. I held a reflector in my left hand [still folded up], and shot with my right hand. I asked him to remove his Hard Hat, which he did. The wind blew some of his hair across the face, and he started to pull it back. I asked him to let it go. I paid him $10.00 for his 5 minutes of time, which I gratefully thank'd him.

This puts alot of things in perspective.
This is what I got.

Happy Holidays,

Phillip

Good! But to me, this kind of faces match better with a urban background, or at leat, A background. To me, the picture is excellent in terms of light and mood, but i'd shot it showinf an eviroment. But this is just my humble opinion.
BUT, on the other side, having him isolated of everything, with a neutral background makes me focus on his face, on his thoughts... Anyways, great capture!!

Great capture on this shot! Thanks also for explaining how you got this gentleman to allow you to take his shot. A little courtesy does go along way and it shows with this wonderful photo!

Absolutely top notch.
Wonderful color in his face, a little mustard (?) in the beard, and silver beard.
Great portrait, and thanks for sharing the story that accompanied it.
Congratulations.
