I think a stop or two would do the trick, yes. The image is bright enough that you can reduce the brightness of the sun without making the rest of the image too dark.

I really love this area and all the plantlife! The colors are great, and the shot is lined up excellently! The light though does drown some of the picture, and is too bright from the camera. I think your shot recieved too much light from the sun, but otherwise it's great!
