Hi Riny, this shot is taken in the early morning.
That?s why there is fog in the evening there was no fog.
One hour after taken the shot the fog is gone., The fun with this kind of shots is that you have only a few minutes to find your position and take the shot the sun rises faster than you think. Every minute the light is dive rent.

The colour tones, soft lighting and the mist and the simple composition really work together to make this a beautiful image. I might have moved the horizon line either up or down a little, and cropped a bit off the right side, but that's just personal preference. Well done.

Hello Petal, The stripes where caused by a dirty sensor. Something you only see after you have taken the shots. And especially with this kind of shots. This is not a excuse but learn from it be careful with cleaning the sensor, I use swaps but it took me a long time to get the sensor clean again. Now I take a picture after cleaning with a long exposure to fine out if there are stripes or not.

Hey Harry .. you know, in this case of noice on totally black areas, why dont you use the burn tool in Photoshop ? this is what I used in making my alternative

Yes Ali youre right there is what noise in the back. But more contrast makes it darker and give more noise in the darker parts and a stronger glow of the sun but less detail. I have used neat image to filter out the noise which was already in the image due the long exposure. Strong filtering gives a plastic effect which I don?t like.. So I had to chose between the two, a plastic look or a bit noise.

Great shot!!! Love the almost natural B&W with a splash of orange...!!! Fabulous reflections, the mist on the water is great, excellent composition... well captured!!! Apart from some noise (stripes in the black of the trees) and maybe a bit more contrast it's a perfect shot... ;-D!!!
