About This little guy was in the lobby of a hotel in Vegas...and I couldn't resist...I thought he was SO cute! :)
I didn't even notice until working on the image how the monkey seemed to be looking right into my eyes.

Thanks Mohammed. I never mind when you play with my shots. I'm flattered you would take the time. I thought about putting a shadow behind him and for some reason decided not to. I like it...all I have to do is add the frame back on. Thanks again!

so adorable. He is definately all boy and the monkey look is really slam dunking a great capture. I am glad you chose to isolate him on to his own page. The original he was probably drawfed by the lobby. Excellent capture!

Lovely, Susie. In British English "A monkey on his back" used to mean "having a large mortgage on his house." The monkey obviously spotted you taking the picture!

I followed your forum question about the young lady with the sand, er, clothing. I didn't contribute but I notice that now it has been properly identified. Like you, I have have no problem with Usefilm's provision of an area for that kind of photo but I don't want to see it myself nor have my teenage boys see it on my screen... So thanks for speaking up. I've raised similar questions in the past AND been jumped on.

Thanks for Proverbs 3, 5-6.

Likeable contrast between the serious expression of the child and that comic of the monkey that watches to you. Composition very interesting.

Yes, he's really so cute little guy, love he's talking visage! Very well presented portrait shot dear friend! I think very missing the background or not!? Looks like he's floating on the space! But i love it! Well done dear Susie! :)

My best regards!

hee hee...that's cute, Susie. Great eye for spotting this one!
Very fine job extracting him from the background, WOW!

Susie OConnor Susie OConnor   {K:34798} 10/28/2005
Oh, you wouldn't have liked the original setting, I can guarantee you that! I think there was one polyester pants leg from grandma, the edge of a stroller and his dads foot. Not very Vegasy, so I thought this would work better! :)

Ann Nida Ann Nida   {K:45248} 10/28/2005
This is so precious and I love how you eliminated the background. I too was wondering how you did such an imaculate job of it. (I can see us all going to Susie's PS classes on background cutouts 101). :) I love the expression on the cute little dude's face. Almost like he's saying "How long before I can reach those slots?" Yes monkey has you pegged too. Agree this could be a magazine cover shot. Great job Susie. Cheers - Ann:)

Thank you also for your comments on my images. :)

That money does have a bead on YOU! bahahahhaa
I don't have a clue as how to do cut-outs,and this looks like you did a good job with that technique, but wonder why you didn't include original setting which may have been a contrast to his age and cuteness in glittery Vegas?...good eye to spot him and his expression does seem similar to the monkey's!.....cute,cute shot!
regards,gayle

Thanks for playing (and you know you should always feel free...) The blue is okay, but yeah, I still like the larger white one. Just my taste. Still love ya!

Excellent!

Goodness, the monkey looking at you, shirt hanging out, hands in pockets, jeans stuck in shoe... It's classic!

Couldn't have set this up if you tried (well, maybe you could) You've done an absolutely flawless job on the background too. Can see this in a magazine.

Well done Susie.
Cheers
Rina

Great shot and composition, Susie. The monkey does look at you ;-) and taking a picture in a hotel lobby is a challenge with the poor lighting in there. Did you use a flash? I love how you isolated the boy from the background, I honestly thought from the thumbnail that it was a vintage postcard, you know, like the Campbell Soup kids. I still think he'd make a great poster! Such a cute expression! Great job in this compo! Ina

Mort Gage   {K:2743} 10/28/2005
creative/impressive work! the monkey staring at you is definitely the icing on the cake...would be hard to plan it better: expression on boy's face, hands in pocket, shirt out, pant leg scrunched, monkey looking at you.

Kathy Hillard Kathy Hillard   {K:25721} 10/28/2005
He is adorable with his little hands in his pockets. And that monkey looking right at the camera is too cute! Great job of cutting out and I like the white background. The white frame might be a little too much white for this shot (just for my tastes)...but, of course, you figured that :) I changed the frame to see how it would look...but I know that you got the look that you were going for, so this is just for fun.
Another nice one, Sissy!

This is pretty good Susie, the child is well place at the right due to his eyes direction, and good work too, to isolate the boy from nothing else. Well done, very good composition. You had capture a unique moment in this young man, and transmitted to us. Congrats

Regards
Claude

Jan Graziano   {K:17920} 10/28/2005
Great candid shot - he is a cutie, and I wonder what he was looking at so seriously? At least the monkey was paying attention to what was important - the camera! Nice lighting on this - if the lobby of what ever hotel you were in is like most that I have been in - it was probably fairly dark and a real challenge! Good job! Jan
