Perfect waterfall shot, and yes I think the vertical version looks better.

I love the waterfall itself -- the water looks so silky. I agree with others that a little more contrast in the surrounding rock would be nice. I prefer the horizontal orientation -- in the vertical shot, the falls are too centered for my taste. However, I think I would crop the horizontal shot just a little tigher.

It's still a wonderful shot.

I prefer the main post, horizontal. In the vertical, what is gained is cropping out part of the image that is affected by a slight blur (movement blur due to a long expoosure ?) and some flare that has lowered the contrast. But in terms of composition, the first post remains more interesting with the curved and recessed bassin.

I too prefer the verticle. To me it gives a tighter neater feel to the image. As I'm playing around with waterfalls myself right now I don't know if bumping the contrast is always a great idea with waterfalls. You have a lovely exposure in the water right now and if you bump the contrast of the entire image I've found it overexposes the waterfall itself. I found the best way to enhance the surrounds is to select just the surrounds and bump the contrast of the background but NOT the waterfall. Hey...we can do it. We HAVE the technology. :) Cheers - Ann :)

I agree with Ina; prefer the vertical one and think it would gain from a bit more contrast ...

Hi Gary, I prefer the vertical, and a bit more contrast. Beautiful composition!
