Great overlapping images, Ed. I like the rich gold tones in this one, the double ogival arches and the way the portrait gradually becomes dark. The semicircular arches cut in the right spot. Very good use of color, texture and composition. Regards, Ina
I love the hues in this one, Ed...deep, rich and perfect for the subject matter. I also like the elements you've chosen; again perfect for the theme, but I think they tend to compete with each other. My eye doesn't know where to rest, or what should be prominent.
Thinking out loud here: your portrait should dominate, and it does, to some extent. Maybe if you either removed the cathedral doors...or pushed them further back into the background? Hmmm...I like the way the eye is led from the dark doors, up through the angel and on to your face and eyes. I think what's throwing me is the overlapping areas and elements mid-image...the top of the door image and upward and the bottom of the corridor image.
Not sure any of this helps...but I do like what you were attempting to do.
