About Schist outcrops dominate the Maniototo landscape. Shaped by the winds and harsh Winters, some outcrops take on magical shapes. A place where the bones of the earth are visible through the translucent skin of memory.

Another great shot! I've been through alex way a couple of times in the past year and thought I must photograph those great rocks, but it's all about timing with light of course!

A wonderfully moody landscape and a very lyrical 'about', John.
Good work on both counts.
Best regards, Chris

A great one, John! Mythical is spot on, as is your treatment... Middle Earth incarnate. Remarkable on all counts. Bravo.

Umm well its early days yet but on first impressions I would say I was sad to the the 1270 throw in the towel... it was a bloody ripper... I just have a lurking or nagging suspiscion that images arent as bright as they used to be... though I still have to set myself up.. bought a new Dell 9100 with Dual Processor I upgraded it to 2Gb of ram and it came with a 19" LCD screen so I really need to spend some time with it... I havent calibrated the monitor to the printer and dont know how to..it all looks too hard.. in the past tho with the old monitor and printer I would just print em and they were good oh..not any more. The other day I thought I had it pegged that is adj the image to blah and blah but today when I did that for your print it was useless and so I did some individual adj's to your print and its good oh It will be in the mail tuesday ish.. didnt get to budburst but did wander about the studio garden kekeke

No sweat Rog. Look forward to hearing any comments you have on the 2400.
My 1270 is in need of replacement. Have read some good comments on the 2400.
Yea I had my Viewsonic CRT throw a bearing and I took a leap into a Viewsonic 19 inch LCD.
Hated it at first but now it's profiled things are better. Still takes abit of getting used to though.

Cheers John

it seems to be an archaic and mythical landscape under a dramatic sky. the light is fascinating.
I'm once more impressed.
