About This is a statue of the dipole moment... hence the minus sign and the not so clearly visible plus sign on the right... and it's in a very shallow pond in front of the hospital. Ehhhh yes and so what/why..... I hear you say... well the adress of the hospital is: Debyelaan, Mr. Debye was born in Maastricht and won the Nobelprize for chemistry in 1936... so he's a 'famous dead person' who got a street named after him. He was called 'Master of the Molecule' and the unit of measurement for dipole moment is debye (D). A charged molecule can be regarded as a tiny bar with opposite charges at the ends. Such a bar is called a dipole... I hope that the statue makes sense now... ;-D!!!!

On a more personal note: I finally figured something out as well (NOT Nobel prize worthy... LOL) namely what that button is for.... selective decoloring... and it was the perfect sky to have a go at it... ;-D!!!

A very interesting sculpture. I like the desaturation on everything but the sky. It's subtle and works really well here. :)

Thats a very eyecatching monument Petal... and a useful history lesson too! The selective desaturatiion technique seems to have woked well and you've used it effectivley too - the monument is really brought into gretaer prominance as a result. Love the perspective angle chosen too - very very effective!
