Hello Gabriela-

Thanks for your comment on this photo! It's one of my personal favorites.

As for the focus, I was working on depth of field when I shot this photo- so yes, I was focusing on the lower part of the flower with the back blurred intentionally. I really liked how the petals were kind of swirling around and parting in the lower right side of the photo.

I think that the color was the other element that I was trying to capture. I think that I should have re-shot this with my bigger lens (Macro) in better lighting. Maybe next year I will try it again.

This is a gorgeus flower with as gorgeous colours! But...if I draw a diagonal from the lower left corner to the upper right corner of the photo, I get a lower right that is beautifully clear, every petal contoured beautifully and playing like the skirts of a gipsy girl. The upper left is melting into a red blurr. Did you INTEND it to be like this or it just happened?The effect is really very attractive! I left once and then I came back!
