About This photo just makes me smile and smile when I look at it. He just finished eating a large caterpillar and it took him several minutes to swallow it completely. I think it looks like he's smiling and waving. It makes me grin. He's sitting on the railing of a wetland boardwalk. I had been watching him and taking photos, not thinking about what would happen when the caterpillar that was crawling toward him got too near. The caterpillar was crawling from behind and I was on the wrong end of him to catch the actual gobbling down of it, but loved this shot when I downloaded it to my computer. I hope you enjoy it.

Wow, you did very well Dave. The photos really tell the story. It's only sad that you weren't able to shot the "eating" part but the first picture here reflects superb details and focus. I think you enjoyed that moment alot and I don't blame me for that :)
Well done.

I sure didn't. I should have know what was going to happen, but I was totally unprepared for it. I was so stupid I guess. I knew frogs ate just about anything, but It was hard to tell that he knew that the caterpillar was even there. Here's another shot.

He looks so calm here and would never guess the next step.

Thanks Dave.

I was on the wrong end of the action. Here's a shot of just a little before the frog turned around and gobbled up the caterpillar. Thanks for your comment.

Great capture of the moment.
But did you shot the actual "eating"? :) just wondering David.
Thanks for sharing the moment.
