I know sunset shots are overdone, but I like them anyway. This one has some really unique qualities. The perspective for one (I can understand how you ended up eating sand :-) ) The silkiness of the rocks and the waves -- which look much bigger than they probably are. A new take on the standard sunset shot -- very good.

Ernie, what is THAT coming out of the lake? - it looks scary. I'd RUN...hehe
VERY nice image and use of slow shutter speed. I really love the smooth, slippery texture of the rocks in the foreground, just like in your other horizontal scene.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. Rick, when I was shooting this series of images, (because I normally do not like shooting or viewing sunset images because they are so overdone) I was trying to do something a bit different. I thought that the foreground rocks would give some interest to the composition, and since the waves were a decent size i experimented with shutter speed. The splash which caught the sunlight is from the wave crashing over another rock. It was a fun shoot, but I hate picking sand out of my body parts afterwords. :)

That wave captured in the middle of the photo is just down right unusual and that's what makes this photo.........Rick

Beautiful colours, Ernie, but I especially like the effect of the shutter speed on the wet rocks in the foreground! Dave.

Excellent capture Ernie and great composition, I like the idea of using a slow shutter speed in here, you managed to get the best out of it, very well done, Regards,

I normally avoid sunset photographs, however the location was amazing, so I could not resist taking a few. :)
