About
Ultimately, what I'm trying to achieve is ambiguity of scale. So now, in black and white for your critique-ing pleasure, hehehehee

But seriously, am I on the right track here...?

I have no idea how large that stone really is. I mean, we could possibly work it out mentally, but there is nothing in the image that gives you away immediately.

Thank you so much for your kind words Marcus and I'm honoured that you stopped by.

Big thanks also for taking time to look at all three before leaving a comment. You've helped confirm that taking colours out of the equation was definitely the way to go here!

Cheers
Rina

I really think the shots have individual aspects that make the same shot take on a different appeal. I really like this one as the desaturation gives the shot a nice balance of tones and I find myself looking at the nice textures and tones, nice perspective and detail rather then the colors. MHO..
P.S. I did come here as I read your post in the forum and I must say I am pleasantly please to find such beautiful work as I expected newbie work and got wonderful polished photography...
Keep up the nice shots...

Thanks Sam! You have some wonderful images in your portfolio. I had a preconceived notion that the Middle East was mostly dry and desolate. I know better now!

Cheers

Hi Laurie

Thanks! Seemed a bit harsh to look at in b/w without some softening. Won't repost though. Wouldn't want UF members thinking, "Crikey! Not that bloody rock again!"... :))

Cheers
