Yup,I agree her expression makes the photo.
Consider a very tight cropping to zoom in on her face.
Cut off the top so only the background carpet shows. (Yes, I know this will cut off the top of her head.) Then cut off half the wall on the right. Then cut off some of the carpet at the bottom. This wil put her eyes in the extreme upper right. It might wreck your picture, but it might make it more dramatic. Try and see if it works or not.
