Hi Kes,
I like the honest about.
Remove dust spots by darkening and create art. :)
Not only that, but you get an award.
Damn good shot anyway!
When are you going to start posting again?

Great shot Kes!
A belated congrats on the BIP for a deserving image! I was looking for some similarly themed shots of my own for a photo contest just recently. This one would have made a good entrant.

Very dramatic shot, I really like it. Do you use channel mixer while removing colour from the blue channel to get the dramatic black skies?
In awe of this shot.

As Jim mentioned "Very Dramatic", the deep black sky contrasting against the white clouds gives the image such tremendous depth. Excellent work Kes & warm congrats on the BIP award, best wishes.

I can see why this one won an award, it is beautiful and very dramatic. I love the way the windmill stands out so beautifully against the clouds. Alison

Fantastic shot!! This is definately among the best I've seen for a long time. Great use of b/w, but the best part is that it's so dark.

Impressive work, K

Thanks to everyone for their comments.

Murat - It is indeed clouds. The dust that I referred to in the "about" was on the camera lens.

Kes-

I noticed what you said in "about"

See if your image editor doesn't have a scratch remover tool. I only recently discovered it, and found out well it works. After removing the "dust" you might be able to restore a subtle bit of tonal separation between sky and land. It might, however, wreck the dramatic effect you have achived here.

Neat contrast effect, Keseph. It reminds me of the fearsome billows of 9-11... as recorded by Dorothea Lange. ~Tim
