Thanks for the kind words, Derek! The statue is in the Druid Hill Cemetary, in Pikesville, MD. It is a beautiful place that is impeccably maintained. This statue is situated among some small trees and they must have grown faster than the guy trimming the hedges. Anyway, the way the statue was "hidden" was intriguing, and a little creepy. I thought this was a tortoise at first, why would they put a statue behind foliage? Isn't it suppose to be seen? Or is that the whole point? Did you hold those branches up there? hmm When a picture makes someone ask so many questions you know it's a good picture!

This would show so strong displayed on a wall with the verse below it. You look at the image and read the words and they are then inseparable, like the music and lyrics of a great song. Very nice piece.

Wow Brad, on the outside, but so desolate.....and afraid to look in, afraid of what's on the other side..eyes are closed...afraid to see, ears are covered because they don't want to hear...the face partially obscured, he wants something more than the obvious, something real and less transparent....he doesn't know what to think or feel..he's looking for a reason to believe, but he's afraid that what he sees will hurt him so he keeps his eyes closed because he can't bear to see that no one notices...he's lost, but wants to be found, so he stands there and he waits...deep and moving words and image my dear...I love this one...in my favs....hope all is well with you....:):)Linda

The Hidden face.... Very creative composition, Brad, And the DOF adds the feel of some obscure, forbidden place, if you know what I mean (quite a different feel from what you described, though) That selfconsiousness also fits well, I think. A mesmerising shot....

i find myself rereading each and every word,Brad...the first 2 lines describe this image...but the part that lingers with me is "where passion cuts through the air...like a single arrow bound for my soul"...you simply amaze me,Brad and the image conveys the emotion of "the artist" very well indeed...i'd buy ya a cold one if i was there ;> regards,gayle

I feel that those words describe this image perfectly. The statue is hidden and in the thumbnail appears as just a rock. We all have a cover of some kind. Nicely done Brad~
