About This was taken today in the courtyard at the front of the Peoria, AZ City Hall Complex. It was very overcast. The windows on the bottom left of the photo is my old office (City Clerk) until I retired in 2004. This is part of the view that greeted me every work day from the opening of the new City Hall on 2/18/91.
This was the first sculpture commissioned by the Peoria Arts Commission. "The Family" was chosen to represent some of the values of the City; such as our goals of striving higher and moving forward in our growth and development - yet always keeping in mind that close-knit family unity was an important part of the Community.

Well Mary - thought I had attached a different view of this - but the first try didn't take, so I will try again. Jan

What a great idea to have sculptures that portray positive ideals. Good shot, Janice. But, I'd also like to see a side view that would show more of the total scene.

Can't wait to see this from a different angle.

The front is the man (husband) who is holding the woman's (wife's) hand. The wife is reaching back to embrace the child. Am doing some contract work, so I will be going back to City Hall frequently in the next months. I will get some shots of this at different angles. Really spectacular. I am sure you can tell that the sculpture is of copper.

Good job girl. What is the figure in the back?
