Sarah, thanks for stopping by ! Excuse the late response. How I do it ? Oh, not easy in short... This one was worked up in a similar way as the former upload, you could look @ the about there. In general, I work with RAW to 16bit TIFFs, convert with CaptureOne. Workup with PS, mostly with layers and masking, different color blending modes. Sharpening in two steps, mildly for the TIFFs, and as last step another sharpen (on the original or the resized version).
Cheers
Carsten

Yeah, but I feel like cheating when using post-processing the photos! =( But hey, PS is a digital darkroom, so it's not cheating, because film photographers do the same manually in a darkroom...we just have it easier because it is instant, hehe. I couldn't see myself shooting film...I have no patience and I will be antsy to see how the pictures came out. =)

Thanks for your nice comment ! Straight out of my 300D come 99% dull, flat looking images ;-) Even for a natural looking photo you need some levels, curves, ans saturation manipulation. So what.

Wow, your work is crazy, hehe. I like how you get the most out of your 300D...that shows that is not the camera always. =) I also like how you tweak the photos in PS...I have been learning PS for a year now little by little when I have free time and I am able to correct my pictures some, because let's be honest...I have not see a camera take a really mind-blowing picture. Post-processing gives it the touch and it's the difference between something impressive and something boring. =)

This is fabulous, Carsten. I really like the way the sky emphasizes the beautiful sunflower that is reaching up to meet it. I love this one. Mary

The sunflower looks a bit 'cut-out' from the background here but it makes a strong foreground.

A marvellous shot again, Carsten, though I might have been tempted to crop it to a square in order to lose the white hole top left. Best regards, Chris

Nice alternative to the previous one. I think it would have been a nice framing if the bud was clear against the sky. I mean if the horizon would be just below the bud.

A wonderful focal pointe Carsten, I love the way the sun is hitting the outer petals of the flower and it's dramatic look against the dark clouds. Alison
