About Same orchid as previous one.
I do know it's not sharp all over, but personally I like this selective DOF. Gives it more depth.

wow, can this get any better, i don't think .. this shot has everything ! And yes, selective dof is something one can play with, only the selection of that field is sometimes delicate.. think it is quite ok here !!

John! that was Indonesian!!! ;-)

but I know what you mean though...it has an Oriental feel.

I was indeed very glad to finally have a little time last weekend to shoot these orchids.
:-)
talk to you soon (and plan a date!)

Marion,
Somehow it reminds me of an Chinese restaurant in Oisterwijk ;-)
Anyway good to see you're back with YOUR subject.
This one jumps of the screen, in spite of I prefer the first composition.
Hug,
John

My darling friend; Marion,
always your shots share a lot of peace and calmness with me.
this feeling is indeed valuable and rare you give me. the minimal DOF and the white area are the most helpful elements that emphasize this shot between your other works, hope you grow with your shots.

Lekker weggeregend in O'wijk? Regards, Femke

More of this beautiful plant, Marion. I think it is better with some DOF to give perspective. Nice color and background all over again.

Excellent! May I suggest you try a very slight texture to give this the look of a fine Oriental watercolor. Absolutely stunning shot Marion.

I like the dof and the unusual background, but there is something - maby as Hugo says, static ... But very cool!

Beautiful capture, I love the lighting and colors. I also like seeing multiple flowers curving on their stem.

;-)
groet,
Marion

Hi Marion, the DOF does add something interesting compared to the previous one and is more of ann improvement than a flaw, I think. Composition wise, I do believe the previous one is stronger, as it's more surprising and less static. Either way, a good shot, although not quite my favourite theme.

Cheers,

Hugo
