About People sometimes suggest I should "clone out" the odd telephone line or power cable. They don't know how hard it is to avoid them in Japan, where lines criss-cross every street in all directions. This shot started off as a test of lens definition but I think it might be interesting to people who don't know Japan. (The lens proved quite sharp!) It makes quite a contrast with the classical severity of the temple in my previous upload!

I'd say this photo wouldn't be as good without all the lines and cables - even if they weren't typical of Japan.

Hey, that's superb, a really good journalistic shot, brilliant colours as always, well chosen POV. The power lines against the sky make it perfect !
Great lens , the Pentacon 30mm. One does not need
"golden" lenses to be happy, true ? :-))
It's like the women issue: There are so many who are not so expensive but charming as well.... :-)

no, no Roger. those lines are great--they seem to shout out "Japan." lovely shot here, like the red "theme."

Yes, this is very interesting and the amount of detail contains much to be discovered about a country I will never see in person. I like the vanishing point moved off dead center.

The Bessaflex will allow you to try a lot of old and interesting lenses. My first camera in Germany was a Pentacon SLR. The viewfinder blaked out completely upon shutter release and didn't reappear until you cocked the shutter. The instant return mirror was another great invention!

Now that WOULD be a challenge for the clone tool!!
A fascinating and well composed shot, Roger.
Best regards, Chris

very nice street photo
here you managed so that the cables do not 'distract' the picture :)
