Well, I might have commented recently about the "old dog and new tricks". Think there is still some learning power there, and you are right. When we learn what to do when and how. WOW! LOL Jan

Well, I realized that after I sent it. I guess the light comment came out sounding wierd. I know what I meant. I'm like you. All these settings and I don't know how to use them properly. Last night a friend was trying to explain some, but I didn't get. Oh well, auto mode works pretty well. I figure we'll learn as we go along. I've already learned lots from UF. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Wait until they see what we can do when we really know what we're doing. ;-) Mary

Thanks Darlene - Yep we were both out late. I was reading a book on digital photography - haven't a clue as to why he was still zipping around. Jan

Too funny Mary on your comment about the lighting, and thank you for your recent comments on my photos. I guess ignorance is bliss sometimes. (Guess these are just happy accidents)Haven't learned what I need to yet about lighting, focus, ISO what to use when, etc. - and have mostly shot just in my camera's auto mode. I have been reading like crazy trying to learn about exposure, white balance and all the zillion others things you should remember when taking various shots. Will get brave and try expanding my experimenting pretty soon. I do like my camera - but then the Canon 20D feels pretty good too. Jan

You have shown his beautiful details wonderfully. I'd think it would be hard to get a good shot like this right under a light. Great. MAry

Thank you Petal - better him on the wall then in my hair - or on my front. Actually I ducked as he came zooming in to land on the wall, but it was nice of him to set awhile so I could grab my camera and take a few shots. Jan

Stucco is an off white - moth greyed browns, tans, beige. Porch light has a yellow cast - voila - sepia tones without PS! It was also very nice of him to land under the light so that I could get a nice shadow. LOL. Thanks for the comments Lisa. Jan

Great macro I can even see little hair or fuzz on the front lower right antenna (not sure that's the proper term). It looks like you used a sephia tone on this one, but knowing what the moth looks like and the color of most stucco I'm almost wondering if this is the natural color of the photo. I too like the shadow this little guy cast for you on the stucco.
