Hi Jon,
Well... they still are building a lot of gas guzzlers, but even the new high performance engines are much more efficient than these ever were. One of the problems is that today's cars are so much more heavy than most of the cars from the past.

Love that car... sniff... they don't build 'em like that anymore (and at 1.09 a litre they never will!)

Thanks Thilo,
I'm glad you agree with the choice of b&W toning. I think a lot of people like old cars this way. I suppose the idea is to set an nostalgic mood. It seems to work. I think possible a very saturated colour look would do well too. Or, it could be interpreted as just washed out colour? Maybe I'll try one that way too.

Hi Marcus,
A friend of mine also had a 71 Challenger. It was only a 318ci with an automatic, nothing like some of the monsters that you see all tricked out.

Thanks Carolyn,
I probably will post a couple more. These machines are very photogenic, as you know.

Hi Andre,

Hi Aidan,

Thanks for the comment. Yes, I do remember that movie, but when I was working on this photo I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it. I think after "Bullit" came out, everyone wanted to make a movie where the car was the star.

Nice tones & composition. Awesome car...ever seen a film called 'Vanishing Point' from 1971 (the car is the star)?
