Roger, you must know that I would like this one. I'd be all over this one with my Oly. Beautiful work!

Thanks, Gabriela. I decided to keep the lighter green foliage at bottom left as a better "frame" (you can see I don't bother with picture frames at all), and that seemed to require the extra space at the top to balance it. But I see what you mean about focusing on the shrine...

The red springs like a flame from among the lacy green around! Wonderful composition. Though....I would crop it a bit at upper and lower sides, as you want the eyes to be focussed on the shrine. My best regards, dear friend. Gabriela

Er, hate to say this, Chris, but "habing curtain" is a mistype for "hanging curtain." It's like the short hanging curtains outside Japanese restaurants and means, essentially, "we're open for business." Ooops. The shrine had been newly painted, and I turned down the saturation about 20% to get this result.... I'll be posting a different view in B&W.

This is an excellent image, Roger! I love the green 'sides' and the patches of brilliant red! The 'habing curtain', (which I initially thought was a load of brightly coloured towels hanging on an indoor washing line!), is a great feature, too! You got the composition right and you got the lens right, too! Nice work! Best regards, Chris

Thanks Mary. I hoped you would like it as it's one of my own favourite shots. The weather (i.e., the light) wasn't too good that day, but the shrine is close enough to home that I can easily go again. Maybe on a day with a blue sky?

These shrine pictures are very wonderful, Roger. I love this composition with the vibrant colours and the way you framed with the trees. This is a beautiful shot. Mary
