Well done. I have seen this beautiful skyline so many nights when I had someone else in the car with me. You nailed this one. Excellent with nice straight lines and all. This is a photo that all the Minneapolitans should see.

bummer. well, a bigger/better camera won't necesarily fix this. you need to get a beefier tripod too. not sure what tripod you use now so i can't really say. and btw, if you ask me, go with the D70 ;^)

take care,
tr

hi Tom...thanks for the comments.
(sigh) i did use a tripod and self-timer. guess i finally outgrew my camera. i took 3-4 shots this way and none looked any better than the rest as far as sharpness is concerned. hoping to get a d70 or eos 20D one of these days.

breaking out, todd? good choice for it too. i think the glow would've called at me as well. bummer we don't have tall buildings in dc. i know this isn't your "thing" but if you were to attempt it again, try it with a tripod and the self-timer. i'm assuming this is handheld, is it? good job regardless.

take care,
tom

Hey Todd,

some unusual stuff from you, but nevertheless bloody awesome. great night shot with vivid colors, a very bold basement and a tower in the fog... I see King Kong making its' way up there!

best wishes,
THilo

hi, very nice metropolitan night shot,Todd...love the glow of the colored hazy light at the top of the bldgs....noticed what appeared to be writing at one of the upper level row of windows,so took it into paintshop to magnify and attached what i saw ;> very clever and what a view you must have!

yeah, i know. actually, shots like this don't typically get me too excited, but the misty tops of the buildings looked cool and i couldn't resist. i need a better lens though for this kind of stuff.

Excellent capture, Todd. I can tell you as a local this is one fine image. IDS encapsulated in fog/mist, the lights of DT Mpls, the colors of the evening sky. Sharp image.
