Beautiful photograph! This would look great in large print hanging on the wall. I love the color and composition of the silhouette. Very nice job!
Thanks for commenting on my photo. Best regards,..... Mike

Thanks Mike. It was taken many years ago, and I have never seen anything slightly close since then.

Me too Chris. Wish I had the funds for a new computer, good scanner and photo program. The way I am going about it is Flintstone style. Living in a small town limits the availability of custom labs to do slide to CD conversions, and my computer can't handle even a small Photoshop program. At a cost of $10 to $15 for a custom scan, it gets spendy REAL fast, so I resorted to taking a photo of an existing photo using a point and shoot digital camera........... The detail here exceeds what a local lab has done when converting slides for me. :( If ya want it done right, ya got to do it yourself as the old saying goes. Money is the issue right now............. I need to go check my lottery ticket. :)
Checked out your photos Chris. The coastal long exposure photos could look like they were done here..... Your stuff looks a lot like what I have done, or tried to do. Guessing many were done in the 30 second to 2 minute range? Good stuff Chris, and thanks for all the nice comments.

Lucky you were, this is an amazing photograph. I like the blues of the clouds in the background. This would look great hanging in a large frame on the wall.
My compliments,

I was thinking it was a slide and not a print! This is definately one to add to your favorites that you have scanned. I can't wait to see them! :)

[I do not understand how you did this?]
By magic.... Poof! I did it in as primal a way as could be done. I set a matted photo on an outdoor coffee table, leaned up against the fencing and shot it from 5 feet away with my Vivitar digital camera......... except for the edges, it suprised me and came out pretty well. I forgot to mention that I did not use any filters to get the blue coloration, that's how the slide looks.

Hi Randy!
I do not understand how you did this? Did you project this image on to a wall and take the picture of the image displayed on the wall? Or did you put the slide on the end of the lens and click the pic? Regardless, this does appear to be a beautiful image. May I suggest having your favorites scanned somewhere? I find this a very dramatic sillouhette that would be perfect for the new project #51 I think it is. You could help this image by rotaing the image maybe two degrees to the right and cropping off those distracting white borders. I think this image would benefit from a solid black border with a thickness of say 50? I will have a look through the rest of your portfolio while I am here, because if you took this pic, I am sure you have other Gems in there. :)
