Hi Brendan, the mirror board is a piece of shiny reflective metallic mylar paper (about 45cm x 30cm) taped onto a sturdy piece of poster board. I purchase the paper in a local art store. I line up my reflection in the board and shoot away. I find it easier to shoot mirror board photos with my smaller Pentax compact camera instead of my Nikon D50. It's easier to hold the mirror board and view the photo on the LCD this way. Thanks for your comments on my photos.

Absolutely awesome capture, more than deserving of the BIP award. I am especially interested in your "mirror board" images! What is, if you dont mind my ignorance or my inquisitiveness, a "mirror board"? Great portfolio Warren...very inspiring. Regards, Brendan

Wow! It is a work of art. This could have been painted by a master -- no lie. :) The form, color, light and all are beautiful. If I hadn't read your about, I would have assumed you used smudge tool in PS on a regular photo, or some other smear technique. Finding that this is an actual capture of your kitchen counter blew me away. Congrats on the awards. Antonia

An instant favorite, Warren. Simply beautiful. This doesn't look "caught" to me, but rather exquisitely composed. I'm awed by the effect, and stunned by the image. Brilliant work!

I first believed it was a painting!!! And so beautiful!!! Then I read your "about" and still can't believe what a chance you had to take such a catch! It is stunning in beauty! Mohamed said below that it is worth being put in a frame and I agree. Congratulations for BIP! It is worth more than that!
Best regards from Gabriela

This image is remarkable. As a painterly image it reflects the best in tone and colors of my favorite Dutch still lifes, yet also brings out the best in the more visceral effects of impressionist art. But this work is not an imitation of a painting by any means! Quite apart from any resemblance to painted work, it shows a masterful use of composition and colors that work together to create a very pleasant tone and mood. There is such a pleasant balance to this work. An instant favorite! Thank you for sharing this great work!

I'm afraid that initially I dismissed this as the application of a PS filter of some kind until I read your self introduction and saw the effect of your mirror board in other photos of yours. Now I find it fascinating and very effective. I respect your desire to record images as seen, even if they represent a very distinctive vision, not the creations of computer software. I've got nothing against using PS, do so all the time, but not to create images! I think your creative talents are well focused... and very impressive.

that has got to be one of the most amazing photographs I've seen. The texture of the reflecting surface makes my mind boggle. I love how you've captured the light pouring in from above, and the manlike shape caught in the beam. A perfect upload for project #51, should definitely earn you a BIP!
