About
This is how I snuck up on him. The bridge behind was so pretty reflecing in the water but could only get a bit in with the bird. That water actually turns into a puddle at low tide but at high tide the bridge is what gets us over when it's deeper. I walked over the bridge to get to the beach but waded thru the water to follow him.
Marilyn I love this image..excellent capture of this lovely Heron, they are such graceful birds, I really wish we would see more of them here. We are on a very small island off of the main island, and I know they see more of them on the main island, but here we get an occasional white one, and I've tried to get some shots, but it's very difficult to get within shooting range (as you well know) with my 70-200 mm lens..anyway back to your lovely image. I like the rocks on the beach forming a nice diagonal, the colors make a nice contrast against the sand and the sparsely placed patches of tall green grass add just the right amount of color, the still water is wonderful too, I love the way it's coming in around the rocks and for me it evokes a strong feeling and peacefulness...Personally I think the fact that you couldn't get any more of the bridge reflection in the frame is ok, because it focuses more attention attention on your excellent capture of this wonderful bird..the picture in the comment section is wonderful as well, too bad that bridge is there, it's such a gorgeous nature picture and then there's that man made structure...but what can we do, we need bridges too...very well done..a really beautiful image..love your birds..Where is Estero? I used to live in Punta Gorda...thank you for all of your wonderful comments too Marilyn I appreciate you and your comments...
