Hi paola
thanx for the comment! :)
The big word on top is jamali which I guess is a name of someone and it also means my beauty so it could be a pet name or nickname
The under it the word love
And under it ?the one? doesn?t make much sense

Your noble intentions and the portrayal is commendable. Seeing these children barefooted apparently when it seems that they had changed into their better clothes for the shoot by their mothers is a clear portrayal of their financial state or maybe their way of living. The disarrayed expressions of the children, with the mono tones of the pic and the graffiti on the wall all add very well to this bitter reality. Also the candy does not seem to make them happy, why?
By the way have to wonder where was this taken, coz it sure seems like the neighborhood I live in :)))

The usual bare-footed street children... poor.
I like that you included the graffiti on the wall in the photo, very suitable about and thanx for sharing Arwa, bravo,
Khaled.

Excellent picture Arwa, even if the ?image? of poverty some have alluded to is not really present for me ? to my eyes the children look ?relatively? well tended?
The shot is very well composed as is ? And if you had chosen to crop the picture right down the middle you could have produced 2 absolutely perfect, valuable images!
Some have difficulty creating one significant frame! You manage 2 out of one? pretty cool ;-)?

Dear Arwa, A very good shot with great composition and different expressions from each child that works well together. Great work. BTW, I've noticed how passionate you are about poverty, justice and things like that so be sure to watch the Live 8 concerts on, I think, 2nd of July (www.live8live.com). Put together by Bono (U2) and Bob Geldoff (Live Aid Concerts -1985) for the forgiving of the debt of the poorest African countries by the riches countries. Alot of good music / performers from 4 main European cities + one in the USA. The website will give you all the information. I think it's something you might be interested in. Let me know what you think and take care, Mark
