Thank you both for the comment and for welcoming me here at usefilm, it feels great to know other people are open to encourage 'newbies' like me to become a better photographer and allowing me to be part of this wonderful community. This site will become a great source of inspiration to me and I'm positive I'll learn a lot from all those outstanding and remarkable photographs from all over the world.

Thanks for the tip to Bjorn, the lens I used had a very narrow DOF I'll try using a smaller aperture but I'm not sure if it will matter much. Currently i don't own a tripod yet sadly, but I'm planning to buying one within the next year.

Hey Ruben, great macro, the backgroundcolor is very nice, and very well thrown out of focus. Also the details are good. A pity is the that it takes a short while to find the sharp part. But the fact that the eyes are the sharp part is really very good. If you use a smaller aperture (higher f-number), you will be able to get more in focus, but you will have to use a tripod, and will have to ask the fly very politely to sit still long enough ;-) Welcome at usefilm, hop you have a great time here...
