About When I added the soft focus effect this waterlilly really took on a dreamy quality. I have the color version as well--I'll post that soon. Converted to black and white and soft focus added in PSP.

Linda,
Thanks for your kind comments on this and my other waterlilly shot. I have a few more that I'll be uploading in the next few days.

The program I use to edit these is Paint Shop Pro and its pretty easy to apply soft focus in it. Just go to adjust---->softness---->soft focus. After that it's just a matter of playing around with it to see how soft you want it. Of course you can always buy soft focus filters (they're pretty cheap) and get the same effect. I have a lens from canon that has soft focus built it, but I didn't have it with me at the time.
Thanks again for your kind words--they are always appreciated. :)

This is one very beautiful photo. Love your choice of black & white. Soft tones add so much interest to this photo. Very, very nice.

You have achieved such alovely effect, the soft focus works well, a stark BW might have lost the quality of the lovely water lily, this way it keeps the soft feel of the flower Excellent

Beautifully soft, serene and dreamy, it looks almost like fine porcelain! I like how you have isolated this flower from its surroundings too... Stunning work Laurie.... One for the Favs!
