I happened upon your submissions while on the phone... and came back here...

Mike C. is clearly very correct in his comments...

But then on the other hand... this shows a Young lady with clear self determination... a forcefulness... that one may not wish to fool with...

Compliments

Good strong self Portrait. The pearls make it soft, the expression makes it a bit serious so all together it shows both sides of a strong woman. Excellent job.
I do alot of self portraits and they are not the easiest thing to perfect. Very nice.

Angelika,

Self-portraits are fun to shoot and fun to see what you've done when going back and looking. I will give you a few tips to make this one better. First let me say I like the bare shoulders and the pearls. Both go well with B&W pictures.

The crop could be a bit higher on the bottom of the picture removing the dark part of the armpit. Your chin could have been lowered and turned a couple inches towards the camera. This would have given you a more natural pose and made your right eye look better. Last, move away from your back drop to get it out of focus, say 5 feet away. This would help blur the back ground, hiding it and giving more focus on you the model.

Hope I've help.

Mike
