About In Canada, May 12 is Myalgic Encephalomyelitis(ME), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome(CFS)Awareness Day.
For all of you suffering with this often misunderstood, but serious and quality of life robbing illness, I wish you rainbows.
The National Group adopted the "Goose Story"---geese travelling in V formation, providing support for each other. Unfortunatly, the geese were not cooperative for this picture. I tried. Shortly after the rainbow faded, I got a good picture of a V right in the same spot. Darn. For this picture, I'd have liked to include the geese, but couldn't combine the two.
The rainbow is a solar rainbow. It is less common than a solor halo and can make a complete circle around the sun. It is caused by reflection and refraction off tiny flat ice crystals in the atmosphere.

Soory about the geese, dear Mary, but you managed very well without them and for a very good cause. Here we also have days for cancer, for CF (cystic fibrosis) etc.
Thank you for your very thoghtful comments on my "Walking on shadows" my "Thoothbrush holders" and my "Like mother, like daughter."
Best regards,
Rafi

Ah... yes! This is a similar effect to 'Sun Dogs' that I described and shot in my portfolio. The difference between the halo and a sundog lies only in the orientation of the crystals. On a halo the orientation is random, in a sundog they are all flat. Isn't it an amazing sight to see! Great shot

Just a beautiful capture of the rainbow. So appropriate for the message you are sending. My mother in law has Chronic fatigue Syndrome and she spend most of her life shying away from friends and family because she was always tired and couldn't explain why. Very sad... Thank you. Andree

Excellent photo, I do not think I recall ever seing that sort of rainbow. Also a nice comment and for a good cause. I think you are right, it is often misunderstood condition, perhaps even by Dr.s. Del.

Nice shot Mary! I like the clouds in the picture as they add to the overall feel of the shot. Could even be used for allergy medicine ads.

Great selection for ME/FM day!

Excellent catch, Mary, and really spectacular. A glorious sky, and while it would have been nice to have the geese as well, it's lovely on its own. Very well done!
