About Another of my bin handle. The point of focus was a bit squirrelly in the first photograph I posted. I think this one is much better. I'm still rummaging around my house for interesting things to photograph so I'll be posting more.

Hey Laurie,

Sorry I am so late on this one, but the detail, composition and DOF are amazing.

Well Done and congrats on the POTD.

Good catch. See if you can let more natural light in and use a tripod. That will help eliminate some of the shadows and extreme highlights.

Laurie, original idea and great execution. I would have never guessed what it was. The play of light and shadow along with the shallow DOF create a great astract image. Congratulations on the POD, well deserved!! -- Kind regards, Rafael

Hi Laurie, I find the closeup detail as well as the shallow dof fascinating. It takes the bin handle (I wouldn't have guessed, but then again, I haven't seen the other one(s) yet). Also, the high level of contrast works exceptionally well in this low key image, capturing the essence of the metal handle. Great shot.

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks Larry! I just starting experimenting with abstracts a couple of days ago. It sure is a lot different from the nature/floral shots I'm used to doing, but I love a challenge. :)

This photograph in a one word summery is, exceptional! I adore close up and abstract photography and this combined is fantastic work! You truly have captured amazing detail as you can even see the dust on the metal. I much like how it is a black and white film, both in focus and out. Fantastic work Laurie! Please maintain your beautiful work for the public to see it?s true essence.
