About This was an amazing dragon fly I ever saw, it was carrying all beautiful colors of Butterfly. For my bad luck it enter in my house at night & I couldn't make it stay till next day, so I couldn't shoot him in day time in bright sunlight. One more thing about this picture is this is a mcaro shot with normal lens, the thing I tried here remoce the lens from camera hood and hold it reverse (front part of lens to the camera hood & tread side of lens to the object) to achieve this macro. This is 6/7 years back story when we haven't heard of digital camera and inbuilt macro facility in the camera.

Hi Taran, sorry to specify the right lens, but I just corrected it. It's the fixed normal lens of 35mm which ussually used to come with manual camera in old days.

Girish, this is first of all, a beautiful work of art. I love the colors, the blurred background, as well as the blurred back half, if you will, of the dragonfly itself. Then you truly accomplished your objective here as well, the minimal depth of field is outstanding, WOW, and to top it all off you gave us a great lesson in how to do this. I'm technically challenged, so I'm going to study this for a while, but I just wanted to say how wonderful this image is...thank you for sharing....all the best, Linda

That is a lovely colored dragon fly. The DOF is short, allows the head of the critter to pop.
