Thank you, Margaret-- The frame around it does help alot. I'll have to check my other shots from that day to see if I have any with more room around the poppy... I tend to crop very (too) close sometimes (I don't like to crop after I shoot), I think I need to be more aware of this when I take the picture. Thanks again for your comments, they are helpful.

Christine, I love this so much, it is vibrant, so sharp, so much texture and detail. The different shades are beautiful, and the DOF is great too. It seemed a tiny bit of a tight crop, I wondered if a bit more space round the sides would show it's beauty even more. I gave it a try - do you like - I do hope so, I will put in my favourites anyway 7

Hi..
fantastic a goblet of color. one optimal macro, simple with little elements, only the subject the stem and the DOF! beautiful contrast and beautiful composition. intimate effect of tenderness!

It's rare to see a simple poppy captured in such glorious color as yours, Christine. The composition is such that the flower seems to pop (excuse the pun, it was unavoidable) out of the photo.
