A truly striking image. Sometimes the simple inages have the most impact and this is very simple in its composition. The tufa lines up beautifully with the clouds in the sky, almost becoming an extension of them, linking sky, ground and water. Superb shot.

Thanks for the comments, Erin. A tufa is formed when the calcium rich water from a freshwater spring bubbles up through the alkaline water in a saltwater body of water... the calcium reacts and forms a lime deposit which hardens and builds up to form... a tufa! Or, this all may be wrong, but it's the best I picked up from the visitors' center at the lake. I think they are simply really cool, weird things that make good subjects for pictures :)
