About This moth was folded up because of the cold. I used balance flash with SB 800. The flash was tipped at about a 45 degree angle from camera with the built in diffuser. This softens the light and makes it look more natural.

This is very nice Don. I like the way the flash causes the background to go dark and pushes the subject out in front.

Thanks for your commments Mary. There is a lot of luck in taking pictures besides having a lot of experience. I take a lot of pictures that do not turn out as expected. Just take a lot of pictures and learn to see pictures even without a camera. Just focus on composition and elements that will make a well composed picture. When you learn the elements of composition the technical aspect will come later. Have an questions please fell free to contact me anytime. Don.

Terrific! Another beauty. Especially now that I have tried to take pictures of birds, (they haven't worked) I appreciate even more what a talent it takes to get photos like this. Mary
