About Small monster (Phymateus leprosus) I found destroying my baugenvilla. This grasshopper is highly toxic and cases of death has been recorded in South Africa where they accidentally were included in a relish called "marogho" of the indigenous african tribes.

Hi Peter - No this was free-hand. With the macro work I prefer to photograph the insects outside under sunlit conditions. I often use a monopod just to help stabilise in awkward positions. This grasshopper though was very shy, hiding (running0 away from me - I had to to without my monopod. Thats the fun part- not so?
Joggie

* Thanks to all for your gracious comments - appreciated!
