For someone just startiing out in photography, you allready display the makings of a true artist. Keep up the good work, you will just get better and better. Thanks for sharing. And especially thanks for divulging the tecnique used to create this image. Its not something everyone does, I am guilty of this myself. This would be a better site if it was mandaatory that the image displayed also included all the technical information on how the image was developed.

Thanks for dropping by, Bob! :) Simple,
1. I made a duplicate of the original image which is colored,
2. then turned the original image mode to B&W. Then turned it back to RGB again but this will remain as B&W.
3.I then used magnetic lasso to trace the boy in the duplicate copy (which still in colored tone),
4. then simply dragged the boy using the move tool to the B&W copy.
5. The reason of turning B&W mode to RGB again: so that when you drag the boy to the b&w it will stay as colored and not turn to b&w.
Hope this helps, Bob! Im not actually sure if this is the correct procedure, I just did a little experimentation but it works quite well.
