I have since found out that this snake is actually a banded water snake. It is not a cottonmouth as I first thought. Thanks for your comment Yamil.

Hi Teresa, Great capture. Seems like this snake is about to change her skin. To me it doesn't look like a cottonmouth. I think it's in the family of colubrids. Keep up the good job. Yamil
