Hi Ehdae, i have a D70 also and tried something like this. Of course it is not as fast as the F5 both in frame rate and AF speed, but it I think in this situation it would have worked fine.

Thanks you James and everyone for their comments and positive feeback.
Putting the focus right on the head was of course the camera's job but I did hundreds of photos of swans and geese and experimented a little with shutter time to get a nice balance between a sharp head & body. Or course it depends of the stage the wings are at the moment of the photo but in general I found 1/1250 works really nice for geese. At least for my taste.

Wonderful image, what a fantastic shooting angle! You really made the best of the oppportunity. I really like how the head is pin sharp but the motion in the wings has also been captured...adds action to the image. Splendid!
